Social Media

This policy outlines how Cottingley Collective uses social media responsibly, ensuring a safe, respectful, and professional online presence. This policy applies to trustees, staff, volunteers, and anyone representing the charity online.

 

Use social media in a way that is respectful, inclusive, lawful, and aligned with the charity’s values. By sharing accurate information, promote activities, engage positively with the community, and protect the organisation’s aims and therefore its reputation.

 

WHAT WE MEAN BY RESPECTFUL USE

  • Do not post offensive, discriminatory, confidential, or misleading content.

  • Avoid personal opinions that may harm the charity.

  • Do not share images or information about children or vulnerable individuals without consent.

  • Remove any images at any time if the individual no longer wants to be shown on social media.

  • Make it clear at events and activities you intend to take images and use them on social media, post this on all available social medias, on posters advertising and signage on the days.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY AND HOW TO COMMUNICATE

Do not share sensitive or personal data without proper authority or images. Do not discuss safeguarding concerns over social media.

 

Only use the organisations contacts to discuss issues, bookings, donations and not personal contact methods to ensure transparency. All social medias to be managed and management committee can request access at any time.

 

REPRESENTATION

Individuals must not present personal views as those of the charity. The charity will monitor social media activity related to its work.

 

Breaches /Failure to comply will be investigated and may result in disciplinary action.

This Policy will be reviewed annually
